WHO WE ARE:

Born of a simple impulse to support the creative arts in Salem, Massachusetts, Dann Maurno of Salem GASworks (a Guild of Artistic Sorts) was awarded a seasonal gallery-workshop by the City of Salem, in May of 2010. GASworks provided an eclectic, family friendly arts & entertainment venue on Artists Row for the tourist season. Throughout that season his wife, Sara, developed a deep respect for the artists in the community and continued promoting the "Best of the Best" arts & entertainment in Salem MA through various social media platforms  This volunteer campaign reached 57,000 a month on Facebook alone.

Past GAS

Today, Salem GASworks, filmed at SATV in Salem MA, ventures to take an intimate look at the "Best of the Best" original art & entertainment in the community. Each episode features a musical guest with a complimenting artist from the visual, written or performing arts; and at times takes an eclectic leap into the realm of the senses by including artisan chefs and connoisseurs.

In June 2012, friend and local artist Sheila Farrens  Billings, who was represented in GASworks (a Guild of Artistic Sorts) on Artist Row of 2010, introduced Dann & Sara Maurno to Executive Producer, Kevin Walker of the board of SATV and the creative force behind “(your name here) Productions”.  After an immediate meeting of the minds, they begin creating the NEW Salem GASworks. With a mission to continue to champion the arts in Salem, GASworks’ innovative platform now provides local artists a broader reach from cable access, to the North Shore and beyond through Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

In short, we are crazed promoters (cheerleaders) of the arts and it's all just wing'ed madness!
